• 2008 University of Queensland Research Scholarship (UQRS) and 2008 University of Queensland International Research Award (UQIRA) to fund PhD studies (approximately $125,000 in total over three years).

• Graduate School Research Travel Grant ($5,000) as well as a Research Grant from the School of Political Science and International Studies ($4,500).

• Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) research grant for women PhD students ($15,000 USD) to pursue PhD fieldwork in Colombia and Guatemala.



Post-graduate Studies

• Rotary World Peace Fellowship for graduate studies in International Relations in Peace and Conflict Resolution at the University of Queensland ($50,000 USD).

• Fulbright Fellowship to spend the year in Manizales, Colombia ($25,000 USD) to carry out research on university-linked community development programs.



Undergraduate Studies

• Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to spend the year as an exchange student studying at EARTH—an agricultural university in Costa Rica ($25,000 USD).

• At Harvard University as an undergraduate, applied for and received more than $25,000 USD in summer fellowships, scholarships, research grants and other funding schemes from the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, the Center for International Development at the Kennedy School of Government, the Weissman Fellowship and the Environmental Sciences Faculty to support internships, thesis research, field experiences and other supplementary scholarly activities.
